We’re simply excited to join the cause and do our part to promote Black-owned businesses, and the various industries and partnerships that await them on the African Continent! As a Black-owned, woman-owned SDB, there’s nothing like joining the effort to promote economic freedom and liberation from suppressive, oppressive and depressive economic systems that only afford prosperity to a select few. That’s why it was more than befitting that Origen Destination seek out ways to bring awareness to Black-owned small-business start-ups that want to learn about business expansion from a small business owner’s perspective.
Yes! The competitive nature of going into any business environment can be intimidating but just know you’re not alone. As a small business, we understand that we’re bringing to the table all that we have, our skills, talents, business acumen, years of acquired professional, personal and experiential learning, the good, bad and unscripted. We’re doing our part to help address the socio-economic disparities facing people on the continent. Many Diaspora have expanded their businesses in areas of their expertise towards solving a problem on the continent. Partnering with the locals and formulating a plan to GISI is one alternative. Another alternative is to get involved or start a campaign. So far, we’ve identified several projects and showcase them on our GISI page. Each month, we will seek to showcase a campaign and highlight what they’re doing to solve the problem as opposed to funding its perpetuation.
